Checkpoint on JFK Boulevard

The flow of traffic was disrupted this morning on John F. Kennedy Boulevard (from St. Paul’s Avenue to US 139, Jersey City) due to police activity. I thought they were ticketing drivers not wearing seatbelt. So, during a stop, I asked a policeman what’s going on.

Jersey City drivers and their passengers need to buckle up when driving around the city. Cops will be ticketing motorists who don’t wear seatbelt to ensure safety.

Traffic: Summit Avenue and Five Corners

One lane is closed on both directions on Summit Avenue, Jersey City causing a slow-moving traffic during the morning rush hour. Cones were lined up from Van Reipen Avenue to Five Corners (Newark Avenue).
