Saw Ferris Wheel and more rides at Pershing Field along Central Avenue on the way home from work. Fall 2009 Carnival has started yesterday (October 7th) and will continue until the 12th of October, 2009. Sounds like a lot of fun for the kids especially this holiday weekend….

It’s May and it’s time for Mayor Healy’s Jersey City Block Parties. Unlike last year, this year’s block parties will happen each day of the week starting May 4, 2009 — except for the block party for Ward A at Columbia Park, as it has been rescheduled due to bad weather.

What is Mayor Healy’s Block Parties?

According to the city’s official website: “Hosted by Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy and the Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Cultural Affairs, Jersey City’s Annual Neighborhood Block Parties are held in each of the city’s six wards, and feature music and games for children as well as City services for adults. Prizes, balloons, hot dogs and drinks will be given away on a first come, first served basis. This year, Marco Beria will conduct green Eco-Art workshops for kids and DJ Omar will provide music…”
