Brooklynfoo of JCConstruction Blog was at the scene yesterday (March 21, 2009) to capture the start of the demolition of the partially demolished hotel – a big eyesore in Journal Square, heart of JC.

PICS: Jersey City St. Patrick’s Day Parade

It wasn’t as sunny as last year, but this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade was a big hit — “roughly 70 groups marched along the parade route from Lincoln Park along Kennedy Boulevard to the viewing stand opposite the Loew’s Theatre in Journal Square…” according to the Jersey Journal.

Bomb Scare at State Building

News reported that there was a bomb scare at the State Building on Summit Avenue (corner Sip Avenue) in Journal Square area of Jersey City. The incident led to street closures this morning. (See map above)

Yesterday afternoon, while Jersey City and the rest of the nation were occupied with presidential election (Obama won, in case you didn’t know ), I spotted a local artist in Journal Square area painting a tree. I asked if I could take his pictures and he approved.
