<p><em><span style="color: #008000;">* ALL OF SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT&#8230; NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY AND SOUTHEAST NEW YORK.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="color: #008000;">* FROM 6 AM EST THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS EVENING.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="color: #008000;">* PERIODS OF LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN EARLY THIS MORNING WILL GIVE WAY TO A SLOW MOVING BAND OF LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WHICH WILL TRACK FROM WEST TO EAST TODAY. THE HEAVY RAIN WILL BEGIN BY 10 AM ACROSS WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY&#8230; BY NOON ACROSS THE NEW YORK CITY METROPOLITAN AREA&#8230; AND BY 2 PM ACROSS EASTERN PORTIONS OF CONNECTICUT AND LONG ISLAND. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE TO TWO INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED. LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF TWO INCHES ARE POSSIBLE.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="color: #008000;">* THE PRIMARY THREATS ARE FLASH FLOODING OF QUICK RESPONDING STREAMS AND SMALL RIVERS&#8230; AND URBAN AND POOR DRAINAGE FLOODING.</span></em></p>

<p><span style="color: #ff9900;">SOUTH WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 50 MPH WILL DEVELOP TODAY AS A POTENT FRONTAL SYSTEM IMPACTS THE REGION.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff9900;">WINDS WILL QUICKLY DECREASE FROM WEST TO EAST AFTER THE PASSAGE OF A COLD FRONT THIS AFTERNOON.</span></p>
