440 Farms, Route 440 Jersey City
440 Farms on Route 440 Jersey City

If you like fresh produce but don’t know where to buy, Ian of New York’s Sixth blog posted a list of Farmers’ Markets that provide “fresh produce, baked goods, and of course, pickles” in JC.

Grove Street PATH Plaza
Newark Avenue
Mondays
4pm to 8pm

Hamilton Park
Wednesdays
2pm to 8pm

Journal Square
PATH Plaza
Wednesdays
10:30am to 7:30pm

Van Vorst Park
Park entrance at Montgomery Street
Saturday
8am to 2pm

Paulus Hook
Washington Street and Dudley Street
Saturday
11am to 4pm

The 440 Farms (see picture above) on Route 440 offers the same thing. They also have fish section that opens every Friday. Check out the photos below and see if they have cheap produce/fruits/fishes.

440 Farms is located past Culver Avenue if you’re going from Bayonne. If you’re traveling from north, you have to make a right on Culver Avenue, to make a U-Turn.

Farmers Market at Journal Square (JSQ)

Farmers Market kicks off today at Journal Square. It will be open on Wednesdays (1030AM – 730PM) through September 24, 2008.

Journal Square also provides FREE LIVE MUSIC every Wednesday and Friday (1130AM – 130PM) for the entire summer.

Farmers Market @ JSQ
Where : Just outside Journal Square PATH Station
When : Every Wednesday starting today (June 25) – Sept 24.
Time : 1030AM – 730PM
