PCUE Rally in Jersey City

Today, several residents gathered in front of Martin Luther King, Jr. School (PS 11) on Bergen Avenue (few blocks from Journal Square PATH Station) and rallied for a better education. Kids and adults were marching in front of PS-11 chanting “Education not incarceration!”

This week, Jersey City Catholic Schools celebrate Catholic Schools Week.
Catholic Schools Week is celebrated nationally the last week in January, this year Jan. 26-31.
The logo for the observance shows the words “Celebrate Service” and hands reaching out and surrounding a globe. The “t” in the word celebrate is formed as a cross.

If the forecast is correct, today is going to be cooler or colder in Jersey City. It’s not cold “cold”, but temperature is down compared to the past 4 days when we experienced excessive heat. Simply put, it’s still hot (in the 80’s) but not as hot as yesterday.

School Closings Due To Heat – June 10, 2008

If the forecast is accurate, tomorrow (Tuesday, June 9, 2008) will be the last day for the heat wave. Due to excessive heat, some schools in NJ had an early closings for today.
