Abandone US 139 and JFK Boulevard, Jersey City
An empty building at JFK Boulevard and US 139, near Elm St., Jersey City

Travelling north to Union City from Journal Square, it is not hard to spot this abandoned building. It is next to the Metropolitan – another abandoned building near the intersection of US 139 and JFK Boulevard, close to the border of JSQ and The Heights area.

The Beacon Main Entrance
The new entrance to the Capital and the Rialto

Almost every morning, I take a snap of the Beacon from my window and feature it in my local Jersey City weather entry for the day. I usually refer to the Beacon as “triple tower” from where I stand — only the 3 front buildings are visible.
