July 4th is one of the busiest holidays highlighted by fireworks (we have one in Liberty State Park, Jersey City). According to JCReader, PATH will add trains in anticipation of increased ridership:
From JCReader:
“… additional trains will be added between 6pm and midnight to accommodate travelers headed into and out of the city for the New York fireworks display sponsored by Macy’s, in the East River…”

Remember the Bayonne-based Bergen Avenue Bus Company? They were only running 2 buses (out of 14) because the rest failed in inspection conducted by MVC.
Eversince, riders had complained that the service was “terrible”, and they had to wait extended hours for the bus.
The good news yesterday was that the company is expecting four (or five) buses back on the road today. After a quick call at their office, I learned that four buses are now in full operation.
Now let’s wait and see how commuters will respond.
The company’s 411 is listed below in case you want to call them…
Bergen Avenue Bus Company
Address : 1080 Broadway, Bayonne, NJ 07002

Bad news for motorists headed back to Jersey City via Pulaski. The right lane to Broadway is closed due to a car accident.

Reported By: NJ DOT - TOC North
NJ DOT - TOC North: accident on Pulaski Skyway northbound at Broadway (Jersey City) right lane closed
Drive safely!

Due to repairs and maintenance needed, Bergen Avenue Bus Company only runs two good buses that transport commuters from Bayonne to Jersey City (JSQ). The commuters also have to endure the heat because of the buses’ lack of air-conditioning system.
“For the past two days, I’ve been waiting about an hour,” said Hudson County Community College student Emily Amparo, as she waited for a bus around 2 p.m. yesterday at the Journal Square bus depot.
“It’s been horrible,” Amparo added about the lack of A/C. “But I have no choice.”
The news said that there’s a roughly 17,000 monthly commuters who use this Bayonne-JSQ line. Wow. Makes me appreciate my old cranky car.

Good news for Jersey City commuters …. PATH Service is now back after the smoky conditions yesterday that annoyed thousands of passengers:
PATH service between 33rd Street and the Journal Square and Hoboken stations has been restored in both directions following a service disruption due to power cable damage caused by a track fire between the Christopher and 9th Street stations.
Normal PATH operations are expected for the Wednesday morning commute. Regular service also will operate on the Newark-to-World Trade Center and Hoboken-to-World Trade Center lines.
If you want to know how it looked like yesterday down there in the tunnel, watch this short video taken by 212nyc (Jimmy) of flickr.com:

Another “smoke conditions” in the PATH, causing suspensions of train services on the Journal Square/Hoboken to 33rd Street line.
The last time it happened, the suspension lasted an hour. Let’s see how long the PATH is going to fix this. Hopefully before rush hour so Jersey City residents from NY can get home on time, trouble-free!

Here’s the report from njcommuter.com:
NJ DOT - TOC North: accident with injuries and overturned vehicle on Pulaski Skyway southbound area of South Kearny(South Kearny) right lane closed 1 mile delay.
Hope the injuries are just minor.

Right now, Summit Avenue at Five Corners is closed for more construction. It will probably be re-opened tomorrow for traffic. Hopefully, the entire work will be finished before the week ends.
