Snow in October? Who would have thought? Yesterday’s (Oct. 29) forecast reported that NY-NJ area will see 2-4 inches of snow.

Here in Jersey City, I was at Dunkin Donut (cor. Summit Avenue and Magnolia) when the snow fall started at around 11AM. It started to stick to the ground when I got home before 12PM. Several hours later, it felt like the sky dumped more than 5 inches of snow.

This morning, as I was walking/driving around the blocks of JSQ and McGinley Square areas of the city, I saw a lot of tree branches that had fallen off due to snow. Some streets are impassable (Highland Avenue), and portions of some roads like Sip Avenue are blocked off.

Below you will see some of the photos of the aftermath of the snow storm in Jersey City, a rare occurrence in October. Sorry for the poor quality, I just used an old phone for the pictures:

Highland and JFK Boulevard.
The good news is the sun is finally shining! It will certainly help melt the icy snow in time for tomorrow’s trick or treat!
