Two Jersey City Festivals This Weekend

Santacruzan 2009 in Downtown Jersey City

Next week – May 24, 2009 – a Santacruzan will be held in Downtown, Jersey City. It is a day-long Filipino street fair and festival with various performances, live bands, booths and it will be highlighted by a religious procession in honor of the Virgin Mary.

Low-Flying Planes in Jersey City

Downtown Jersey City residents have witnessed planes/jets flying low across Hudson River, and some even evacuated their buildings. Reports say that these military jets “are part of a Department of Defense photo shoot and that there is no threat to the city.”
According to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Jim Peters, this event should be finished by 1030AM today.
