A man was brought to Jersey City Medical Center after he was hit by either a baseball bat or wooden stick in the head. He was robbed $150 and a cellphone. This happened when he was walking on Pacific Avenue at 4AM. I am guessing he was attacked from the back as he didn’t know what hit him.
Doctors treating the victim at the Jersey City Medical Center initially feared the injuries could be life threatening, but John McKeegan, spokesman for the hospital, said last night the victim was treated and released.

There are two Jersey City library closures reported by nj.com. One short-term, and the other one is still indefinite.
Miller Branch Library will be closed today as the water will be shut off. Miller Branch is located at 489 Bergen Avenue, JC.
Meanwhile, the Vincenzo Domenico Bonetti II Children’s Room at the Jersey City Main Library will be renovated and improved. Library officials could not give a definite time-table for reopening so they encourage patrons to use neighborhood libraries. Details below.

Don’t worry, the Miller Branch Library in Bergen/Lafayette offers free basic spanish classes every Wednesday from 4pm - 6pm. The only catch is you have to call them so they can give you a little orientation on what to do.
The lady that I spoke to this morning said they have materials and books to make learning very simple and easy.
So if you are interested, find their 411 below and mention that you learn about them via JCRegister.com…

The news said it’s not a problem bringing another restaurants or establishment to the site of that the Burger King MLK Hub branch as “several establishments have recently expressed interest in the Hub because of its ample parking and proximity to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail.”
No other information, though, on the McGinley branch, which is the one I frequent to.

A JCRegister reader, Michael “Mike” Serrano, contacted me the other day asking for advice on 77-79 Crescent Avenue, Jersey City.
Here’s his unedited email:
I have seen these Gorgeous condos and was wondering what the neighborhood was like and whether it would be a wise investment? A walk through the neighborhood leaves much to be desired, but with PS 22 on one side and Lincoln HS on the other i can’t be that bad, can it?
I know, from my research, that area has been up for re-development for a while now and was wondering what a Jersey City resident had to say about it.
I’m currently a New Yorker living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (which is under HEAVY re-development right now) and the Crescent condos are priced so LOW I just don’t want to miss out on a good thing, but if the area is not worth it then I wouldn’t mind as much. I have tons of pictures if you’d like to post them.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, JC is a huge city and I don’t know some of the neighborhoods, including Crescent Avenue, reason why I am posting this.
If you are a JCRegister reader who lives around the area, or you found this post via search engine, please feel free to post anything relevant to the topic in the comment box.

So expect me to get upset/infuriated whenever I hear a pregnant lady getting hit on purpose by someone for no good reason.
Take the case of this pregnant Lexington lady (18-years old) who was struck with Snapple bottle in the head by her boyfriend. According to her, she and her boyfriend got into an argument and the guy got angry then threw a glass bottle at her, hitting her in the head.
Now, the girl has two bumps to worry about: one in the belly, and one in the head.
Good thing is, the boyfriend doesn’t have a gun within reach during their argument!
News report says the man is still at large, so we wouldn’t know his side of his story. But who cares? If your partner is pregnant, practice self-control.

Map of Lexington Avenue. In which area of Jersey City do you think the incident took place: West Side or Bergen LaFayette?

They’re all at your mercy.
These dogs need owners, otherwise, they will be “terminated”. The thing is, there are more of them. They are waiting and have no clue what’s going to happen to them. Are they going to be put to death? Or are they going to enjoy an extended happy life in a new foster home?
So if you love dogs and you want to save their lives, you can adopt them and put them in a nice shelter so they can avoid being a victim of euthanasia. If you can’t, at least spread the words to your dog-loving friends. Visit this website to look at the pictures of the poor dogs: http://animaladoptions.weebly.com/index.html
Personally, if I could afford one, I’ll take one. The least I can do is to make sure this information goes out before it’s too late.
