Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Hope you enjoy your holiday with family members and friends. Tomorrow, parking rules and regulations will be suspended (November 26, 2009) in observance of the holiday.

Jersey City
- Thanksgiving service will be held at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 400 Arlington Ave., Jersey City at 10 a.m. Thursday. A free Thanksgiving Dinner will be served. For information, call (201) 432-8795, (201) 435-3875, (201) 658-4622.
- St. John the Baptist Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parishes are having a free Thanksgiving Dinner Thursday for those in need from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in St. John the Baptist’s school auditorium, 3044 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City (enter parking lot side of school on Huron Avenue). - Jersey City Elks Lodge will host its annual Thanksgiving Dinner Thursday for the homeless, elderly and anyone who wishes to attend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge, 81-83 Hutton St. Turkeys compliments of Peter Brennan. For more information, call (201) 656-5063.
- The students and staff of Concordia Learning Center at St. Joseph’s School for the Blind will have a Thanksgiving luncheon tomorrow at 11 a.m., provided by the Lions Clubs of Multiple District 16. For the 26th consecutive year, Lions Past District Governor Paula Tarantino of District 16A, along with staff at the school, donated time to shopping, preparing and cooking for over 100 staff, including blind/visually impaired and blind/visually impaired multi-disabled students. In the past funds were provided by the Lions Clubs of Multiple District 16.
- This year’s Thanksgiving luncheon is the 3rd annual luncheon at the new school building and campus located at 761 Summit Ave., Jersey City.
- St. Anne’s Church will host a dinner for the needy Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. at St. Anne’s Centennial Hall, Congress Street off Kennedy Boulevard. The church has also distributed about 350 free turkeys.
