Election Week 2009 in Jersey City

May 12 is the election day here in Jersey City, as you probably know. But have you made up your mind as who to vote for? Do you want to re-elect Mayor Healy? Or still pondering on other candidates?

jci-2009-electionsIf you’re still having a second or third thoughts about your candidates and you still want to learn more about others, check out Jersey City Independent‘s 2009 Election Coverage. It’s comprehensive; and for a blog, the list of candidates is well-organized and easy to follow. Click on the names, follow the tags, and click the headlines to read the stories. The guys running JCI did a great job covering this year’s elections.

Also, Jersey Journal released their endorsements the other day:

Mayor:  Lou Manzo

Ward A: Independent Andre Richardson
Ward B: Healy running mate Philip J. Kenny
Ward C: Manzo running mate Jimmy King
Ward D: Manzo running mate James Carroll
Ward E: Incumbent and independent candidate Steven Fulop
Ward F: Independent Omar Barbour

At-large: Manzo running mate Lori Serrano and Levin running mates Andrew Hubsch and Emilio C. DeLia.

Read the full endorsement here (3 pages).

Do they really matter? Do you agree with their picks? I just hope that the best candidates win. ;)
