JERSEY CITY – Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, the Municipal Council, and the Department of Health & Human Services/Division of Cultural Affairs will host the City’s annual Easter Egg Hunt & Eggstravaganza from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Pershing Field, at the corner of Summit & Manhattan Avenues.
The Easter Egg Hunt is for children ages 3 to 8 years old, who must be accompanied by a parent or an adult, although children of all ages are invited to participate in the day’s festivities.
In addition to the egg hunt, children will be able to get a free photo with the Easter Bunny, courtesy of Photo Professor, have their face painted, and go on kiddie rides. There will be games, balloons, and lots of great prizes for everyone.
“The Easter Egg Hunt is an event I look forward to because it reminds me how exciting this time of year can be for children,” said Mayor Healy. “This is a fantastic way to kick-off spring and spend a day out with the entire family. Pershing Field has something for everyone and I hope to see you there.”
There will be two hunts, one for children age three to five years old and the other for children age six to eight years old. Six grand prize baskets of handmade chocolates will be given out, courtesy of Lee Sims.
Representatives of McDonald’s will attend the Easter Egg Hunt and will hand out coupons for free ice cream, redeemable at the Central Avenue McDonald’s.
