Visit Santa at Loews Theatre Today (Dec. 13)

Santa will be at Loews Theatre today, Dec. 13, 2008

You’ll have a chance to visit Santa today (Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008) from 12:30 noon to 3:30 PM in the beautifully decorated Grand Lobby of Loew’s Jersey Theatre. This event is a food and toy drive (sponsored by Friends of the Loew’s, Inc., the Jersey Journal & the City of Jersey City) that will continue through December 19, 2008. Loew’s Jersey Theatre at Journal Square is sponsoring a toy and food drive today from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Bring a new unwrapped toy or canned food and you can get a photo of your children with Santa for free. Visits with Santa are free, but photos with him are $3 without a donation. Pets are welcome to visit Santa between 2 and 3:30. Upfront Riders Motorcycle Club will hold their Sixth Annual Toy Drive to benefit the differently able children of A. Harry Moore School in Jersey City today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 440 Hoboken Ave., Jersey City. Bring an unwrapped toy or call (201) 970-6798 to have toy donations picked up at any location.

Hudson View Care & Rehabilition Center, 9020 Wall St., North Bergen, is seeking the community’s help to provide each of its 273 residents with a holiday gift. To help, purchase a gift for a resident listed on the Giving Tree by Monday. Cash donations, as well as volunteers, carolers and visitors, are all welcome as well. Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City is supporting the Salvation Army with an Angel Tree on display in Center Court. Take an angel from the tree and purchase an appropriate, unwrapped gift for the child listed, to be dropped off no later than Monday.

NJCU’s Nu Pi Chapter of Beta Beta Beta, national biology honor society, and the Biology Club are holding their first annual toy drive. Donations can be dropped off at NJCU’s Biology department in room 335 of the science building until Thursday. All donations will be distributed to children at UMDNJ hospital.
