JCLGO LBGT 8th Annual Pride Festival
JCLGO will be hosting its 8th Annual Pride Festival two months from now.
The theme for this year is “Keeping the Vision Alive”. This event sounds like fun, based on the press release (see below) that I had read and cool photos that I saw from last year’s event.
The event will include rally, entertainment, and singing and dancing. There is also a huge Market Space with all kinds of food, merchandise vendors, and organizations. So if this interests you, make sure to save the date and spread the word by emailing this post to your friends!
What is JCLGO?
Jersey City Lesbian + Gay Outreach (JCLGO), a nonprofit community organization founded in 2001, produces Jersey City’s Annual LGBT Pride Week & Pride Festival and is a driving force in developing and unifying the growing LGBT community in Jersey City. JCLGO is committed to being a vital voice in Jersey City, bringing the LGBT community together.

Jersey City Lesbian + Gay Outreach, Inc (JCLGO) will host the 8th Annual Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival on Saturday, Aug. 23, from noon to 8 pm.
According to JCLGO’s Chair, Ulises Robles, “This year’s theme is Keeping the Vision Alive and reflects JCLGO’s renewed commitment to its mission to be a Vital Voice in Jersey City and bring the Jersey City LGBT Community Together.”
The 8th annual Jersey City Pride Festival will be held at Exchange Place in Jersey City and includes a Rally with speakers, entertainers, and a dance. There is also a huge Market Space with all kinds of food, merchandise vendors, and organizations from 12 (noon)-8pm.
JCLGO is excited to announce this year’s Festival Co-Hosts: Ben Lerman, who is an NYC-based musical comedian, and comedian Jackie Monahan, who co-hosts GIRLS on GIRLS on heretv.com.
In addition to two elating co-hosts, we also have a number of electrifying entertainers. They are: headliner and New Jersey native Lori Michaels, who is powerful singer/songwriter; Mara Levi, a Smart Pop musician who specializes in transcending musical genres; Lovari who is an actor, performer and Queens native; NAOMMON, an Underground Electro-Pop Artist; Odd Girl Out, that is Baltimore’s premiere all-female powerpop/rock band; and Rythm Locura, who is New York’s premier LGBT Latin dance group. Last year’s Pride event was attended by close to 10,000 people from across New Jersey and New York City. This year’s event promises to be even larger.
Along with its Annual Pride Festival, JCLGO also hosts Jersey City’s LGBT Pride Week. Pride Weeks events include: JCLGO’s Pre-Party kick off, the Rainbow Flag Raisings at both Jersey City City Hall and The Hudson County Brennan Court House, a Youth Event, and much more.
There are several ways for you and your organization or business to participate. We encourage you to contact us to become a volunteer, vendor, sponsor, an advertiser in our JC Pride Guide, or entertainer at this year’s event.
