Road Work: Sip Avenue and Summit Avenue

Green highlight shows the portion where the work is going on.
Travelling north of Jersey City? Then, avoid Sip Avenue and Summit Avenue (see map above) most especially in the morning rush hour. The road is ripped up due to road work and it causes a slow-moving traffic. It’s a bumpy and rough ride, and drivers have to deal with (or avoid) the raised manholes.
Unfortunately, this is my route to work. So what do I do? Take the Kennedy Boulevard. It’s also slow-moving there, and the amount of “left-turns” is annoying, but at least the ride is smooth.

Sip Avenue towards Bergen Avenue, taken 5PM today

Summit Avenue near Pavonia Avenue, taken 5PM today
The raised manhole says “JCMUA Sewer” on top. So common sense will tell us that the construction is related to sewer. When will it end? I’m not sure. But based on the road condition seen on the pictures, it might take a while.
We can always call JCMUA at (201) 432-1150 during business hours 8:30am to 4:30pm (The JCMUA is located at 555 Route 440, Jersey City, NJ 07305.)

Journal Square, near John F. Kennedy Boulevard, taken at 8AM today
The traffic on Journal Square is heavy in the morning rush hour. But at least you get a nice view, and you get to see the newspaper guy.
