Glimpse of Bergen Avenue May 25, 2008

The weather here in Jersey City is still nice/gorgeous/fantastic/ outside, so I went outside, picked a spot at the intersection of Bergen Avenue and Academy Street for some photos.

The perfect weather will continue tomorrow – the actual Memorial Day, so if you’re planning on having a BBQ, go ahead and enjoy! ;)

MLK School

At around 9AM this morning, I spotted a homeless still sleeping on the bench in front of Martin Luther King, JR. School (PS 11). I wanted to come closer for a nice photo, but I might disturb his sleep.

Bergen Square

Just across is the Bergen Square, which was empty during that time. Normally, people would gather in this place, and some little kids go biking (circling) in this little/mini-plaza.

Bergen Avenue

Bergen Avenue. North, to the left, you will see the TRUST company building (now rented by CAPITAL One Bank) and further is the PATH Plaza building. Nice blue skies, right? Notice also that the parking spaces were nearly empty. At 9AM, this area was very peaceful and quiet.

There were more pigeons than people in this place. :)

Enjoy your day!
