Jersey City Crime Stats – March 2008
I’m getting a decent amount of traffic coming from google search engine using the keywords jersey city crimes 2008 (and variations like jc crimes 2008), so I decided to write a post about it.
The best site to get information about JC Crimes is the Jersey City Police Department (JCPD) website. But despite their site having a wide array of information, it is poorly designed making it difficult to navigate. Thus, information can be hard to find for an impatient (or technologically-challenged) user.
Since JCRegister.com ranks well in google (“Jersey City” + any keyword combinations), I thought it’s good to write a monthly Crimes Summary Report which I’m going to extract from JCPD site. They call their system “Compstat”, which stands for “Computer Statistics”. Keep in mind, if JCPD doesn’t update their site, I won’t be able to write an entry.
Below is the latest UCR (Uniform Crime Report) Crime Statistic Data for March 2008. JCPD has not updated the stat for April yet:

You can download the excel/spreadsheet version if you read the rest…
Here’s the text Version for people who like to copy-paste…
Below is the Excel Version if you’re a geeky person like me.
You can download it, manipulate the data and create some charts in the future. Some functions are already included.
