Slashed Tire in JC

Slashed Tire in Jersey City!
Slashed Tire original photo from kirstography

A year ago, my car tires were slashed twice in a week. Couple of days after, I learned that there’s a group of people roaming the area (JSQ, Jersey City) during the night and punctured random tires. Unfortunately, my car was one of them.

I can’t put in words how inconvenient it was, especially that I drive to work. I had to take the bus and leave the car on the side street until I get off from work. Since I know how to change tires, I did it myself completely forgetting that I can call Triple A to do the job. Then I had to go to some local tire vendor and wait until served. Took me almost half a day to fix everything.

I am posting this because I had read in Jersey Journal that a 20-year old woman was captured for slashing someone else’s car. And she did this for no reason at all. That’s the thing I really don’t get. What triggered them to do *[insert expletive adjective]* things?

Hope this doesn’t happen to you because it’s not a pleasant experience.

Things You might want to consider when your tires were slashed

  • Take a picture of your slashed tire for documentation
  • IMPT: Call JCPD at (201)547-JAIL [5245] and report the incident. Don’t let the suspect(s) get away with it!
  • Call AAA (Triple A) if you are a member. They will change the tire for you. Just make sure you have a spare tire available. Their service is pretty fast, as far as I know.

Have you been victimized by these inconsiderate people? Do you have any other recommendations in case this happens to someone else?
