Online Petition for Hudson Catholic Regional High School
Hudson Catholic Regional High School was reportedly closing at the end of this school year (June 23, 2008)

UPDATE (05/07/2008) : Hudson Catholic Regional High School will stay open for next year!

A lot of Jersey City residents that I talked to were dumbfounded when they learned about the eventual closure of Hudson Catholic High School. Like me, they couldn’t believe it as well.
I’ve heard people are going to protest this decision by the Archdiocese of Newark by rallying at Journal Square plaza. There is also an online petition created to keep the school open. Approximately 700 people have signed the petition as of this writing, but this kind of thing doesn’t guarantee anything.
I still remember when parents protested at St. Aedan School when the Archdiocese of Newark formally announced the shutting down of the private elementary school. Students and alumni even dedicated a week to raise some funds. In the end, the Archdiocese still stood firm by its decision.
Nevertheless, I am still supporting this mission. If you are a JC resident who feels that Catholic Education is important, then you should support it, too.
Sign the Petition now.

No one cared when other Jersey City Catholic high schools were closed recently.. =\
Hi Tamara, which High School was that? Is it Caritas Academy?
St Aloysius High School, the co-ed one on West Side Ave. =\
The one newspaper that showed up to our last graduation didn’t even bother to get correct facts about the ceremony. It was very sad. No one gave a crap.
