UPDATE on the first comment below….

My post about the death of Staff Sergeant William Neil Jr in Afghanistan has been getting quite a few of hits from google search lately. I wrote that entry two weeks ago, but I was surprised the post keeps on showing up in my site’s stat.

The reason: people are coming from google search using the keywords “Hudson Catholic High School Closing

I was surprised when I saw that. The school doesn’t even display any symptoms of closure. What is happening with Catholic Schools in Jersey City right now?

Just 3 years ago, 90-year-old St. Aedan School – now known as Primary Prep (right across Hudson Catholic), was forced to shut down (parents protested) due to low number of incoming students. And I also have posted about two weeks ago that Caritas Academy on Kennedy Boulevard will close at the end of this school year.

I wanted to confirm this news but Hudson Catholic office is closed right now. I will try to talk to a couple of principals of various Catholic Schools in Hudson County to check if they knew anything about this… will update this post if I get something of substance.

Are you a current student of Hudson Catholic School? What have you heard about the school’s status? Is it really closing?
