Provident Bank Donates “The New Journal Square” Banners
Remember last week when I posted something about night parking on Bergen Avenue because the city was going to install banners? Well, after researching, I found out that the banners were sponsored by The Provident Bank.
“…The Bank recently contributed $10,000 to the Journal Square Restoration Corporation (JSRC) in support of a decorative light pole banner system. The 200 banners will adorn light poles in the city’s central business district…”

Light poles on Sip Avenue with banners.
It is nice to see the blue banners while you are driving or commuting. You’ll find more of these installations on JFK Boulevard. And I think JSRC will install more on Summit Avenue, Jersey City near Five Corners.

Is that it? Am I missing something? They just paid for the banners (that look more like ads in my opinion) or are they also actually contributing to the “prettification” of JSQ? It just seems really pointless.
