In case you are uninformed, the unoccupied wooden house — known as “The Apple Tree House” — on the unkempt lot on Academy Street behind C-Town Supermarket, has a historical significance.

In a nutshell, it is said that George Washington and Marquis de Lafayette met in that shelter. The two generals discussed war strategies under the apple tree in front of the house.

The ownership of Apple Tree House has been passed on to generations, until it was leased to Jersey City in 1994. The house had deteriorated by that time.

If you are not too lazy to read Jersey City history (this is also a part of US history), I have posted a link below where you can find Apple Tree House’s history.

Anyway, the overall appearance doesn’t look like finished to me — does anyone know what happened to its restoration plan? Do you know if the city is still going to continue it? I was wondering if they’re going to open it to public once it is done. What do you think?

If you have any updates of the renovation, please feel free to comment. I’d really like to know. Maybe I’m not the only one who feels this way. :)
