Just Opened? Beauty Within Hair Salon

I saw the sign “GRAND OPENING” this morning when I went to work so I stopped by and took a few pictures on my way home. Suddenly, a guy who I assumed to be the owner, came out and asked me: “What are you doing?”

I said “taking pictures” (People have a right to take pictures publicly). He obviously didn’t know this because he asked me why. I answered “I want to.” But then I realized it came off too strong so I said that I’m going to put it on the internet. The owner looked confused, as he was lost for words for a moment. When I asked, “You just opened today?” He said the salon opened over a month ago.

Something tells me that it’s probably an inaccurate answer and he’s simply protecting his business. Who would put “Grand Opening” banner for more than a month? I also noticed there were no customers during that time. But I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they just had a slow opening like The Embankment on Erie Street.

What do you think? Did I come off strong? Did they open today or last month, like the owner said? Have you been to this salon?
