Crime: Teenager Batted 50-Year Old Delivery Man In The Head

Crime Scene In Jersey City
Photo does not depict actual sites of events.

Do you recognize this place? It’s near The Beacon, the building formerly known as the Jersey City Medical Center.

In this area last week, a 50-year old Chinese delivery man was batted in the head several times by a teenager for $20 worth of food. A TEENAGER! FOR FOOD! And the suspect wasn’t even remorseful about it.

19-year old Tyquan Planter, the suspect, was arrested by Lt. Edgar Martinez at his home in Gray Street (letter C in the picture). Investigation shows that the delivery man left Hong Kong restaurant where he works (around letter A in the picture) to deliver food somewhere in Mercer Street (See letter B). Somehow, Tyquan and the delivery man met at certain point and the crime happened.

Witnesses said they saw a man holding a baseball bat boasting he hit a man several times in the head. Police was able to track him down. This young fellow should be put in a place where he deserves. You tell me where.

Meanwhile, the last update on the victim is that he was seriously injured and was getting treatment in the ICU of the hospital.

Why am I posting this?

1. Because it is related to Jersey City
2. To warn you.
3. To warn myself, because my favorite Western Union Branch is at the corner of Montgomery Street and Baldwin Avenue. I went there just last week to send money, and walked home taking the Summit Avenue (see picture).

You’ll never know what’s going to happen so take care.
