TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE Photos from local Jersey City Residents
We were lucky to have a clear sky last night. The moon was visible and we witnessed a natural phenomenon that only happens very rarely.
Total Lunar eclipse happens when the earth’s shadow is covering the moon. On the other hand, SOLAR Eclipse is when the moon covers the sun, but it is still hazardous to the naked eye. In other words, lunar eclipse happens at night, and solar eclipse happens during the day. These scientific events do not happen very often so people take advantage by capturing them on camera.
The best site to look for quality photos is on Flickr, and local JC residents always showcase their skills when big event like this happens.
Here’s one from Vince Ferraro. I like this because of the presence of two stars.

Key Lime_Pie has taken 2 shots with time for comparison. The one on the left was at 10:36 PM, and on the right was at 11:08PM. Nice captures.

Sandeep Chayapathi must be using heavy duty camera. This one is a close up shot of the moon. Unfortunately, I didn’t know what time it was taken.

All pictures are copyrighted so if you want to use them, make sure to contact the photographer by clicking their names above to go to their Flickr page.
(To: key lime_pie and Sandeep – I tried contacting both of you via Flickr but the system wouldn’t allow me, so if you chanced upon this page and you don’t like your photos posted here, just let me know.)
How about you, were you able to see the moon last night?

Total Lunar Eclipse in Jersey City, Photos Taken By Local Residents…
So how was the weather in your area last night? Was it cloudy? It was perfect here in Jersey City. As opposed to prior weather forecast, we didn’t have a cloud in the sky making it easier to take advantage of the rare event. In this post, you’ll see …
Last year even though it was cold outside, the sky was better than this year and I could capture the following pictures:

This year I didn’t have any luck like the lucky ones up north.
