Long retired, the Colgate Clock in Jersey City sits in a weedy field by the Morris Canal. Life goes on in Lower Manhattan on a dreary winter day as the World Trade Center grows taller. Jersey City: Nothing Much on President’s Day

I seldom go out, so I thought today was a good time to drive around Jersey City. Destination: Hudson Mall. I wanted to see if there were any sale or discount that I can take advantage of this President’s Day. Will there be a lot of people?

Unfortunately, there were not much “actions” when I went there. To make it worse, the weather was not conducive at all.

Route 440 at 4PM. It looked and felt like 6PM.

The Shoe Dept Timberland Sale

At The Shoe Dept., Timberland Shoes are on sale. I went inside and asked a guy when does the sale end. He answered, “We always have sale.” Therefore, the President’s Day has nothing to do with the big banner outside the store.

Old Navy Sale
I could have used the Sale in Old Navy Store 20 years ago. :P

Marshalls
Marshall’s was the busiest of all the stores I walked into. See the long queue in the cashier? I am not sure though if it is like this everyday.

Kennedy Blvd President Day
Less people, less cars, less traffic. I took the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Blvd going home. This is around 450PM.

I should have stayed home and rested the entire day. How about you, how was your President’s Day? Was it productive? Any action around your area? Feel free to share your stories.
