BLEUD Brings Back Rock-n-Roll to Jersey City
When I learned about our local band “BLEUD“, I had no idea that they are already popular. So I didn’t waste time to contact Lyn, the band’s manager, and she gave me brief information about the group:
The BLEUD Band
Based out of Jersey City, NJ, under Soulworks Records, Bleud has been making waves in the Asian-American music scene since 2003. A leading member of the Filipino-American (Fil-Am) music community, Bleud has performed at notable venues in New York and New Jersey with Filipino bands during their US tours, as well as Bleud’s own tours.
Albums and Recordings
Their debut album, “Musings of a Caffeine Addict” was the first Fil-Am album from an independent label to be available on iTunes. The band has also released 2 songs “Bye Bye Na” and “Hello My Friends, Hello” in the Philippines. Two music videos were also released in the US and the Philippines for “Hello My Friends, Hello” and “Anime Girl”, both available on YouTube for viewing.
Music, Influences, and Style
After a line-up addition and change in late 2006, Bleud started moving towards and edgy, more defined sound from influences like The Hives and The Arctic Monkeys. The band feels “complete”, now with drummer Jason Estrada, along with bassist Jerwin Glorioso, lead guitarist Arnold Derama, rhythm guitarist/vocalist Ted Reyes, and vocalist Brian Joseph Miguel. This new sound is evident in Bleud’s recently released single “Ordinary”, available for download on Bleud’s official website, www.bleud.net. Now with their latest EP “Tragic Ending” released, Bleud is ready to take on American public.

So, have you personally heard the band play? What can you say about them?
Since I am proud of this group, I made a section specifically for them and will update it every time something new comes up. Their latest performance was at The Iron Monkey, and will post the specifics and some pictures here courtesy of another JC resident, Vince Ferraro.
Rock on!
