Jason Kidd, Headed to Dallas
Any Jersey City basketball aficionados know Jason Kidd of New Jersey Nets. He’s a very likeable player who brings out his A-Game every single night. He is a triple-double (double-digit score on 3 statistical categories) waiting to happen. He is a true professional baller every team General Manager wants on his team.

However, some good things are meant to last. It was reported that Rod Thorn (NJ Nets president) has agreed to deal the 35-year old Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks.
JCRegister would like to thank him for what he had done on the court for our team New Jersey Nets. We wish him good luck and success.
The New Jersey Nets receive Point Guard Devin Harris, Forward Devean George, Guards Jerry Stackhouse and Maurice Ager, and Center DeSagana Diop. More on ESPN.

What do you think of this trade? Did the Nets win this transaction?

As a recently extricated Dallasite, I’ve got to point out that this will be the second go-around for Kidd with the Mavs. If I’m not mistaken, he came to the Nets from the Mavs. The Mavs website is reporting that it’s not a done deal yet but you have to think that by the time the rumor gets out…it’s pretty close.

Hi Thom,
Yup, Jason Kidd started as a Maverick. However, he got traded to the Suns if I am not mistaken. Then the Nets acquired him in exchange for Stephon Marbury.
Regarding this trade, former Laker Devean George exercised his no-trade clause and blocked the transaction. Maybe Kidd will stay here or the Nets and the Mavs might have something else to deal with just to pursue this deal.
Not only George killed the trade, he also massacred this post!
