Long retired, the Colgate Clock in Jersey City sits in a weedy field by the Morris Canal. Life goes on in Lower Manhattan on a dreary winter day as the World Trade Center grows taller. White, Wet, and Slippery Jersey City

The forecasts the past few days – including today – were amazingly accurate. This afternoon, around 430PM – 520PM, the snow abruptly stop making it a little easier for driving during rush hour.

To avoid rush traffic in a busy street like Kennedy Boulevard, turning to a back road seemed to be the logical choice.

Griffith Street at 5PM looked quiet at that time.

I arrived home safely. Not surprisingly, few minutes later, the snow poured down again. 2 hours after, Jersey City was covered with whiteness.

Steve, a JCRegister.com reader, posted this picture of snow from his apartment. I assume he lives downtown Jersey City, overlooking Manhattan, NYC.

Despite the nasty weather, I haven’t heard or read of any accidents within the Jersey City area. It’s nice to know that commuters and motorists are taking extra precautionary measures during this bad weather condition.

So how was your day? Did you drive or commute from work/school? Feel free to let us know your stories.
